Highlighting the Work of Young Carers
We would also like to take a moment to recognise and celebrate some truly remarkable individuals, our young carers, whose quiet strength, resilience, and compassion often go unseen.
These young people give so much of themselves every day, offering care, support, and comfort to family members, often while balancing school and their own lives. Their dedication is extraordinary, and it is only right that we pause to acknowledge them and ensure they feel valued, recognised, and celebrated.
In that spirit, we are proud to highlight a wonderful initiative led by our member, Tony Liston. Last Christmas, Tony organised a very special outing for ten young carers from Sutton, taking them to see Aladdin at The Epsom Playhouse. With the support of two escorts from Sutton Carers, the group was able to relax, laugh, and enjoy a magical experience together, a simple but meaningful opportunity to step away from their responsibilities and just be young people.
To all the young carers, thank you, you inspire us with your kindness, your strength, and your selflessness. We see you, we appreciate you, and we are committed to continuing to support opportunities that bring you joy and recognition.
You are an important part of our community,
