The First President of Banstead and Sutton Nonsuch Club – A Legacy in the Making!
What an incredible privilege it is to stand at the helm of the new Rotary Club of Banstead and Sutton Nonsuch Club, a vibrant space born from the spirit of transformation, community, and shared dreams. This isn’t just a club - it's a movement fueled by passion for service, creativity, and the unwavering belief that together, we can make a real difference.
Our club also shines a spotlight on local businesses and creative initiatives, helping them grow and flourish. We’re committed to supporting causes that matter, as such, during my tenure, my charity of choice is Sutton Women's Centre and we will continue our ongoing dedication to supporting cancer.
We love hosting social events, creative workshops, and activities designed for those eager to explore and make new meaningful connections, or just enjoy life’s simple pleasures. Join us if you’re looking for a community that supports, come make friends for life. Be part of this great community, creating a legacy of positivity.
Let’s celebrate our community!
Over the last decade we have been instrumental in providing over £250.000 for charitable causes locally, nationally and internationally.
Our local work includes support for hospices, youth clubs, schools, scouts and guide groups, local Food Banks and any local organisation that has a genuine need for support in helping others.
Locally and nationally we run competitions and provide support for Young Speakers and Young Chef competitions.
Internationally we are part of the Rotary drive to eradicate Polio worldwide and with the help of local schools and Banstead Horticultural Society we plant crocus corms locally to raise awareness.
Further provisions to international projects, including disaster response, have run to nearly £45.000 since 2006. Fundraising activities include Sponsored Rambles, Christmas Collections and The Annual Banstead Village Fair.
Joining Rotary means access to a circle of new friends and a range of social activities. the motto "service above self" means helping others less fortunate than ourselves both locally and internationally."
We meet on Tuesday evenings at Cuddington Golf Club at 6.30 p.m. for 7.00 p.m.
