Meet John:

John is a fascinating person with a life rich in unique experiences and varied interests, and his dedication to positively influencing the world is truly commendable.

Club Secretary John took the stage with his usual infectious energy and cheeky smile, ready to share the journey of his life and career. With a sparkle in his eye, he recounted how he joined the Cubs at the young age of 8, embarking on an adventure that would shape his character. His role as an Assistant Scout leader until the age of 26 was filled with excitement, camaraderie, and countless memories forged around campfires and under starry skies.

John's sporting exploits didn't stop there; he dove into the exhilarating world of white water kayaking, navigating the wild rapids of both the UK and Europe. Each paddle stroke was a dance with nature, a testament to his adventurous spirit. His passion for community service shone through as he dedicated many years as a governor at a local school, where he played a pivotal role in the ambitious reconstruction of school buildings, transforming them into vibrant spaces for learning.

As the Operations Director of a large construction company, John was at the helm of numerous high-profile projects that pushed the boundaries of innovation and creativity. He regaled the audience with thrilling tales of challenges overcome and milestones achieved, each story reflecting his commitment to excellence and teamwork.

Meet Jane: A Journey of Resilience and Passion

Jane's story begins in the picturesque town of Harrogate, Yorkshire, where she grew up as an only child. Losing her father at a young age, she was raised by her devoted mother, who instilled in her the values of strength and perseverance. With unwavering support, Jane blossomed academically, eventually pursuing her passion for history at Leicester University, where she developed a profound interest in medieval history.

After earning her degree, Jane took a bold step and relocated to the bustling city of London. For three years, she dedicated herself to the Charity Commission, forging friendships and immersing herself in the vibrant art scene. Her frequent visits to local galleries ignited a lifelong passion for the arts, enriching her life in countless ways. Above all, Jane takes immense pride in her son, David, who continues to inspire her every day.

Jane's professional journey took a significant turn when she joined American Express, where she dedicated over 31 years to honing her sales and marketing skills. Her career spanned across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, providing her with a wealth of experience and a global perspective that few possess.
