On behalf of all club members, we sincerely thank David Martin for providing such an intriguing and entertaining account of his life and career in the police force! John Putland warmly welcomed David and expressed a fitting vote of thanks.

It was a privilege to hear about his many years of dedicated service in the police force, told with warmth, humour, and a wonderful collection of personal stories that had members both captivated and laughing throughout the evening. Equally inspiring was hearing about the unwavering support of his wonderful wife, Joanne who has been by his side throughout his career and life's journey. Together, they made the evening especially memorable.

One of the highlights was David.'s delightful recollection of meeting Her Majesty the Queen when he received his OBE, an occasion he described with characteristic wit and humility, giving us a glimpse into a truly special moment in his life.

Members thoroughly enjoyed getting to know David Martin. on a more personal level and learning more about the man who will soon take office as our President Elect. We look forward to supporting him in the year ahead and thank both him and his wife for sharing such an enjoyable and memorable evening with us.
