We joined Sutton Women's Centre and proudly celebrated an incredible 40 years of impact at the Carshalton United Club, a generously hosted social club known for its community spirit, regular entertainment, and outstanding staff.

The evening brought together the fantastic Sutton Women’s Centre team, their dedicated trustees and facilitators and honoured guests, including the Mayor of the London Borough of Sutton, Councillor Louise Phelan, the Deputy Mayor of Sutton, Councillor Cumar Sahathevan and first lady Mrs Cumar Sahathevan. The SWC was also delighted to welcome the Centre’s Patron, Jean Crossby and her beautifu grand daughter, and the President of Banstead and Sutton Nonsuch, all united in recognition of four decades of tireless work supporting women and families.
The atmosphere was joyful and electric. A phenomenal DJ had everyone on the dance floor, from heartfelt ballads to reggae, rock, and everything in between. Every dance move imaginable was on display, and the room was filled with laughter, connection, and celebration.
For 40 years, Sutton Women’s Centre has been a lifeline for local women, supporting and empowering them to build confidence and self-esteem, make positive life decisions for themselves and their children, access vital advice and services, gain new skills, reduce isolation, and become active, confident citizens. The Centre champions the voices and needs of women, working collaboratively with partners to create real, lasting change.

The significance of the night was powerfully underscored by an emotional speech given by, and on behalf of, the incredible staff who keep the Centre going every day. Often punching above their weight, they continue to show unwavering commitment, compassion, and resilience.
