Shaping the Future: Strategic Vision & Initiatives for Rotary GB&I Under Nitesh Joshi 2024-2025

It was with great enthusiasm that president Adore Shuko welcomed the Rotary International Chair, Nitesh Joshi's to Banstead and Sutton Nonsuch club. We had the privilege of hosting a leader whose vision and dedication to service transcended borders, uniting communities around the world in the spirit of Rotary.
Our esteemed guest brought a wealth of experience, a proven track record of impactful initiatives and a passion for empowering individuals to take meaningful action. Through collaboration, innovation and a steadfast commitment to the Rotary motto of “Service Above Self,” they inspired countless projects that improved, health, education and livelihoods in diverse regions.
Our Chair successfully delivered a highly anticipated and remarkable talk that shed light on global perspectives, provided practical insights, and inspired new ideas for both local and international service. Below are the key highlights of his talk.

Strategic vision and initiatives
North Star Initiative: Aiming to grow membership to 60,000 by 2028 through multi-channel membership strategies, including corporate, direct, enterprise, and traditional clubs. Recent efforts have halted membership decline, with 28 new clubs established in the last 10 months. Membership Projections: Current membership is 31,950 (July 2025), with a projected increase to 35,373 by July 2026. Membership channels include corporate (444 members), direct (326 members), and enterprise (1 member).
Transformation Goals: Transitioning from traditional clubs to a multi-channel membership model, emphasising innovation, partnerships, and business engagement ("Rotary Back in Business").
Challenges: Addressing a 47% loss of new members within the first 24 months, while leveraging direct marketing campaigns and partnerships to drive growth.

Structure: Rotary GB&I operates through district forums, cluster groups, specialist advisor teams, and a support centre, with 1,541 clubs across 24 districts.

Lend with Care Microfinance: Promoting sustainable lending to support small businesses, with the option to reinvest or withdraw funds.
Vision and Mantra: Roger Bannister's story inspire belief. Our Rotary GB&I mantra is "Tough Times Don’t Last … Tough People Do." The presentation emphasises optimism, innovation and collaboration to achieve Rotary GB&I's membership and impact goals.
