The Banstead Village Fair on 5 July was yet another success this year, with 24 stallholders representing a wide variety of local charities and organisations. The Orchard was colourfully set out with tombolas, raffles, bric-a-brac, cakes, and many tables giving information to the members of the public. Despite the awful un–Summer–like weather, there was a good attendance and the stalls were a big attraction for the younger visitors as usual!

The event was opened by the Deputy Mayor Cllr.Zelanie Cooper who was accompanied by her consort, Molly. President Adore Shuko welcomed her and guided her around the stalls. In her opening speech, she recognised the importance of the event in raising the profile of local groups and congratulated Rotary on the organisation of the event! Banstead and Sutton Nonsuch Rotary worked collaboratively with a wide range of charities. We hope the event helped to support our local community businesses.
A large crowd gathered to hear the Show Choir perform but sadly, their performance had to be curtailed due to a heavy rain shower. There was also entertainment from OGs Band. The public turned up and were not put off by the challenging weather, delivering several heavy showers during the event.
The Rotary Stalls were well supported, and we were very grateful to ASDA Burgh Heath for donating plants, and to friends who provided books, pictures and bric-a-brac. Our Stalls were busy all day. We look forward to seeing you in 2025!
